The pensive sculptures of Caroline Champetier de Ribes extend their silent life, proving once again that it is not sound and fury that cause attraction. Terracotta or bronze, they sit enthroned like eminences ignored forever radiant and gagged. Wounds worn like other ornaments, they invite to humble beauty.
